As we approach Spring we look forward to the lifting of Covid restrictions in the next few months and we very much look forward to be able to hold our events again with the first one planned to take place in late September at Westgate (more information can be found on our Forthcoming Events Page).

In the next couple of weeks we will be sending out a notice advising of our next AGM that was postponed from 2020 due to the Covid restrictions. So that all paid up members get this notice it is important that you send you email address as quickly as possible. Also with Covid restrictions hopefully lifting by 21st June we want to get some events on the calendar for later in the year to which all members will be invited.
Other news...
It is great news that nearly 20% of our membership is now in the LIFE category. But there are 7 members who are still paying the 1970's membership subscription of £2.50 pa. Would these members please amend their Standing Orders to the Society at the ANNUAL membership fee of £20.00 pa. ...and finally... One of our members from 1960s would like to make contact with Howard D'Olivera. If anyone knows Howard could they please ask him to contact the Membership Secretary via the 'Contact Us' page on the OA website. The Treasurer writes...
"As you are all aware, Covid put paid to any planned events in 2020. This has resulted in an increase in the Society's bank balance which will certainly help towards the future planned expenditure of the Archiving of St. Augustine's College material.
This was one of the considerations for increasing the annual minimum Annual Membership subscription from £10 to £20 but regrettably, advices to members about this was delayed. As a consequence, members only knew about this in the recent the Chairman's New Year message.
Therefore, this Spring Newsletter is a timely reminder to members to increase their annual Bankers Standing Order to the Society at the New Rate with immediate effect. For those ex-students feeling generous, they can always backdate any increase to 1st January by making an additional payment to the Society, marking the reference box SURNAME/Addl. The Society's Bank details are: Sort Code: 16-00-11 Account Number: 15267538
