As I am writing this the first signs of Spring are appearing which is great news after the long, wet winter we have been through.

We are delighted to welcome FIFTEEN new Members to our Society who have joined the Society of Old Augustinians during the past few months -this gives us a total of 112 full Members The increase in membership is mostly due to improved communications afforded by our new website that actually allowed OAs to communicate with the Society.

In 2019 we welcomed: Catriona Blaker, Jeffrey Barnett, Peter Broad, Michael Coquet, David Fugurally, Nick Griffiths, Andrew Heap, David Kendall, Arthur Lim, Fr. Duncan Lourensz, Simone Marella, Richard Scollard, Kark Smith, Philip Vulliamy and Matthew Wale.

We also have had another 30 or so OAs requesting membership and who have all been sent membership details but yet to return their completed form. We are sure you want to join and support The Society. Please make a Lenten promise to say YES. Peter West, OA Membership Secretary doesn't mind being deluged with your requests. Some of you may find our membership forms a little onerous.... but don't worry, all you have to do is set up an annual Bankers Standing Order for a minimum of £10 payable now and then annually on 1st January to the benefit of the Society at ... To: The Society of Old Augustinians. Bank: Royal Bank of Scotland. Sort Code: 16-00-11. Account Number: 15267538. Use reference: 'Your Surname - AN'.

In 2019 we launched Life Membership for a minimum of £100... this has become a popular option with new members and even existing members switching from annual to Life Membership. If you would like to join at this level we would be happy to receive your subscription using the bank details above, just mark your payment reference with 'Your Surname - LIFE'.

When you sign up, please let Peter West, OA Membership Secretary, oasocmembership@gmail.com know your intentions so we can tally your subscription to our bank statement. Could you also add your entering and leaving years at St. Augustine's so we know your vintage.

Your support, membership and subscriptions for the OAs enables us to: Support Catholic education in Thanet - St. Augustine's Church and Shrine - Chilworth Benedictines - The New OA War Memorial Plaque in Ramsgate - Supporting OA Events and reunions.

Many thanks to those OAs who have responded to our request for the Missing School Magazines. We still have some gaps in our "Missing List" - a revised copy will be sent out to all on our Contacts list before the end of this month. If you have any copies of the missing editions, please contact Peter via his link on the CONTACT US Page on this website. Just click on the Membership box, fill in your details, write message and SEND.
