Dear Old Augustinians and Friends.
You are invited to attend the annual Old Augustinians Mass of Remembrance which takes place on Saturday 7th November 2026 at 12 noon at St. Augustine's Abbey Church, St Augustine's Road, Ramsgate. We hope you will be able to attend.
As in previous years we are delighted that Students from Schools in Thanet will be involved in the Mass. The Ursuline College has been invited to take part. As always, the Roll of Honour of those Old Augustinians who attended our School in Ramsgate and who fell in World Wars One and Two will be read out. The Last Post and 2 minutes silence will follow.
We will also remember those Old Augustinians and Ursulines who have died in the last 12 months. We will publish names nearer the time. We shall also remember OAs who are no longer with us whose 10th anniversary of their passing has or is about to take place. These include Fr Prior Benedict Austen (former Abbey School Headmaster and Ramsgate Parish Priest, OA Stephen Owusu-Ansah and as we approach the 10th Anniversary of the Grenfell Tower Fire, we remember OA Vincent Chiejina.

This year we are pleased to announce that our celebrant will be Canon Victor Darlington, who is the Southwark RC Archdiocese Episcopal Vicar for Education and Racial and Cultural Inclusion. Civic Leaders
After the final Blessing, there will be the Blessing of Graves of the monks and former teachers, Old Augustinians and others as requested. Finally, the Laying of the Wreath at the OA War Memorial with prayers and a blessing.
At the end of the service all are welcome to light refreshments in the Cartoon Room in the grounds of the Grange. Presentation of Gifts will be presented to the Parish Priest for Ramsgate in aid of the St. Augustine's Visitor Centre as well as to local schools.
To cover our costs, we are asking for a voluntary donation of £20 or whatever you can afford. Donations can be made by BACS payment through your bank to Old Augustinian Society Bank Account.
