It's not long now before our 50th Anniversary lunch commemorating our move from Ramsgate to Westgate on Sea. Bookings are up and we urge you to book soon as the closing date is on Saturday 11th September.

Just to remind you, that this special lunch will take place on Saturday 25th September at St. Augustine's. 125, Canterbury Road, Westgate-on-Sea, Kent. CT8 8NL (directions can be found on the Forthcoming Events Page) the home of our school from September 1971 to July 1995.

Again, we will be joined by Alumni of Les Oiseaux Convent School, The Ursuline Convent School and La Sainte Union Convent School. It will provide the opportunity to share the many stories we have of our time at school with our sister schools where many OA relatives attended. This event is of course open to all Old Augustinians, Staff, friends and family.

We have frozen the ticket price at £35.00 each which includes tea/coffee on arrival; a guided tour of the former school and chapel; a pre-lunch reception drink and a three-course lunch with wine. We hope you will be able to attend this year - particularly as this will be our first gathering in nearly two years.

To obtain a BOOKING FORM and MENU CHOICES FORM, please contact Richard on this website Contact Page.

We must confirm numbers and lunches in advance, so please return completed booking forms and payments by Saturday 11th September.

The itinerary for this Celebration appears on the Forthcoming Events Page. We are pleased to inform you that Canon Brian Coyle has agreed to celebrate Mass in the Chapel. We will use this occasion to remember OAs who have passed away over the last two years. We do need your help, so please do not hesitate to contact us if there are any OAs or ex Staff who have passed away during this time, so that we can remember them.

We are very hopeful that there will not be any restrictions but if for any reason the Government reintroduce Covid Restrictions we shall act accordingly and advise ticket holders of any changes to arrangements but we all very much hope this will not be necessary.

On the sad note of OAs who are no longer with us, we are sorry to announce that we have lost a couple more OAs in recent weeks. The latest is Rob Carey (1968). Rob was in the first XV and won the Physics prize in 1968. In recent years he lived in the USA and regularly gave financial support to St. Augustine's Abbey in both Ramsgate and more recently in Chilworth. He did attend one of our events in Ramsgate in recent years. Rob had a younger brother, Drew. At the end of July, we heard that Paul Shoucair (1975) had died. Paul was a very popular student at school. Paul, who was from Jamaica, started at Assumption House in 1967 before moving to the College in Westgate in 1971. His brother Anthony was in the class above. We pass on our sincere condolences to the families and friends of Rob and Paul and will remember them at our OA Mass on 25th September.

We look forward to seeing many of you at the lunch and Mass on 25th September.
